Iran strongly condemned the “barbaric attacks” on mosques and desecration of Muslim holy sites in the occupied Palestinian territories by Jewish settlers.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Iran strongly condemned the “barbaric attacks” on mosques and desecration of Muslim holy sites in the occupied Palestinian territories by Jewish settlers.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that the silence and inaction of Arab states and international organizations will only “embolden the Zionists to accelerate their lawlessness.”

The silence and indifference of western governments toward such attacks is against international norms, he noted.

“Undoubtedly, silence in the face of such unforgivable actions will increase hatred towards Israel and strengthen the resilience and resistance of the Palestinian people,” IRNA quoted the spokesman as saying on Thursday.

He called on the Muslim world to find a permanent solution and help put an end to such attacks. On Tuesday, Israeli settlers set fire to a Palestinian mosque in occupied West Bank. The settlers drove up to the mosque at around 3 a.m. local time and torched copies of the Holy Qur’an.

Israeli settlers have repeatedly attacked Palestinian properties in recent months.
